Essaouira is one of the loveliest cities of Morocco. Essaouira is known for its strong winds most of the year so it is known as the “City of the wind”; it is also regarded as Morocco’s “Jewel of the Atlantics.
After breakfast we’ll pick you up at 8:00 am from your accommodation, and depart for Essaouira.
On our way – since this is the land of Argan culture – there’s an opportunity to visit the women’s co-operative of Argan oil where they extract the oil that is famous for its culinary, cosmetic and medical properties.
After several stops to take photographs. Your own guide fully qualified will allow you to experience Essaouira in the best possible way. First You’ll visit the Skala Fortress, this bastion offers picturesque views over the fishing port and the Île de Mogador , the port, Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah Museum, this somewhat fusty museum has a small collection of jewellery, costumes, embroidery, woodcarving and weapons from the region, the souks and see Thuya wood carved by artisans, walking through the alleys of the medina and past the hundreds of handicrafts . Our visit includes the Mullah – the Jewish headquarter, and the beach.
. Today you will have lunch in a Moroccan way, bought fishes ‘cooked to order’. Afterwards you are free to walk and explore by yourself and sit to feel romantic magic of the city.
Note: There is an annual festival of “Gnawa music”, where many musical groups come from different parts of Africa and the world. Usually it starts in the third week of June, so if your trip coincides with this, you have the option to extend your stay for an extra day.
Finally we’ll drive back to Marrakech in late afternoon
